i just went to the local games shop to reserve one & ill get £50 off the price if i trade in my old ds lite

i just wanted to know if anyone else is planning to pick one up on release? i went for the brown version because the red looked cheap imo

I have to say that with my PSP not getting much use, and me actually enjoying some of the games on my kids 2 DS Lites, I might be tempted by one, the large screen is quiet tempting.. just not sure if it'll make the low-res graphics look really bad..

from what i have been reading the screens are the same res but with bigger pixels so it shouldnt make things blocky, it will just be like when you move to a bigger tv :)

That's the issue, bigger pixels!!! the bigger the pixels, the more obvious they become and the more pixellated it looks!

I'll just go and see one in action, then have a think about it, I've not 'treat' myself in ages, and was waiting to get a PS3 for GT5 (again), but looks like I'll be waiting until Christmas for that!

I am still using the first generation of NDS :cool::cool::cool::cool:

I was as well until January, then I snagged a DSi, and honestly you don't know what you are missing until you change.

The screens are just sooo much better on the DSi, you wouldn't think you are playing the same game.

I was but God of War 3 and Final Fantasy 13 gets my pennies next month. Im sure within a month Asda will do a secret sale and have it for £125 in my area like they did with the DSi when that first came out.

thats how i felt when i went from the ds to the lite :)
im glad i didnt get a dsi now because i dont think the upgrade from a dsi to a xl would have been worth it

My son's first DS is dying (battery issues) and we're going to get him a replacement. Would a DSi be fine or is the DSi-XL worth waiting on? He's only 5.

the dsi-xl is exactly the same as a dsi but its bigger ;)
having said that it might be worth waiting as the prices of the normal dsi should come down a bit when the xl comes out

Been out for a while here and they look awful! Never seen anyone actually use one and most people go for the lites still. I've heard they are very blocky!

A friend of mine has picked up a DSi XL - It is quite ugly and I think I'd find it a chore to carry around with me on the go. The screen size is very impressive and makes my DS lite look tiny, but naturally because of the larger screen quite a bit of sharpness is lost.

I would say unless you have eye sight problems I would stick to the lite or DSi.

I am looking at picking up one of these.. I found the normal sized DS Lite caused my hands to cramp after a while and i have pants eyesite and the smaller screen caused me headaches after prolonged useage...

They're actually quite good - I like the bigger screen and the whole thing suits my hands more than the older DS Lite.

I'm not really tempted by the DSi-XL but one thing I'll say, I only really use my lite indoors so the carrying it about wouldn't affect me that much.

Picked on up last week on a sneeky online deal for £107:D Its like having a desktop replacement laptop. So I can keep my DSi in my bag for work and keep the XL at home
