Anyone else here still use a fat PS3 ??

My fat one is still going :) Think it's about 4 years old now. It was an 80gb one that I put a 500gb drive in straight away.

My HDD has just died in mine. :(

I upgraded it ages ago to a 320gb Seagate Momentus.

I know its luck of the draw really but to the people that have upgraded their HDD's, what brand of HDD and size did you go for? Been kind of put off by Seagate now.

I've got a 80gig, it was actually bought by my parents but we swapped my 40gig over with it as they didn't need the extra disk space (both are fine)

My 60gb launch unit blew up half a year ago, right after i bought and installed that a**e h**e a 750gb hard drive. Reballed it, lived for another 2 months, then died for good...
Pity.

Also, my luck seems to be bad with PS3, had to send it in for repairs three times, twice had to push sony to take responsibility for their screwups with firmware (blown psu, update bricked bd drive, then other update bricked whole unit).

i had a 60gb phat until just over a year ago, but that went Ylod. so ended up buying a slim, which i never play on anymore

I am using one of the last ones - the 160GB model that was reduced in price on the introduction of the PS3 Slim.

I've still got one - bought sept 2008 now got a 1tb hard drive in it and going strong :)

Surprised its still going actually, as its sat in my AV cabinet, right next to my htpc and under the amp, with the doors shut.

Still *touch wood* its still going without a hitch :)

I've got a dead 60gb model. Keep meaning to see how much i can get for it sold as faulty (YLOD)
Got a new 160gb Slim now

Still got my 40GB GT5 Prologue bundle from 2007? I hardly use it, got a slim 320GB from the members market few years ago - which in turn hardly gets used, only really play uncharted, GT5 and Wipeout HD.

Think last time I turned the PHAT on was to watch a blu ray movie, but the movie was ruined by the sounds of the fans, so used my laptop instead lol

i have my original 60gig one with the lovely shiny surface and proper metal trims. Have replaced the HDD for a 120gig one, apart from that it's been fine.

Mate has a fat, I have a slim not the current slim one, and the biggest annoyance I have with the models after the fat one is the removal of the USB ports from the back, looks so ugly having to plug stuff in at the front
