It's been a while since there has been any game that has grabbed me and completely kept me on it until the end/completion..the most recent was COD4 on the PC which i completed in 2 days or so.

These days i just can't seem to get into any game. Any game i buy i end up playing it for an hour or two, then i seem to get frustrated and turn of the console and never go back to it. I find it hard to complete games...i guess i'm way too impatient.

An example is mass effect.. I started playing it did the first level on eden prime, and now i'm in the citadel bit and i have to go convince the council about something. So there i am running around for ages looking for the council bit and when i finally find it nothing happens at all and i'm just stuck..this could probably be down to me missing something but i spent ageeeees on this.

I used to play CS 1.6/CS Source religiously back in the day but now even that has no appeal to me along with TF/TF2..

So does anyone else suffer from this disease?

Can you recommend me any good games which are worth playing till the end?

Have you played CoD4 online? I've just got into it and it's a been a great replacement so far for RTCW (Return To Castle Wolfenstein) which i've been playing online for well over 7 years.

I like you.

MGS4 for me, this game makes me want to just keep playing and playing. I went straight on to hard the minute I completed it! Seriously cool game, even gonna buy the walkthrough which Ive never done before with a game.

I'm not really into first person shooters online anymore...i just prefer games with story lines now i think. Tried COD4 online once, got my ass handed to me on a plate lol.

Another example of me is i got GTAIV, played it quite intensively till about 40% completion and got sick and tired of doing the same thing over and over again.

Mass Effect grabbed me after getting past the crappy framerate.

MGS4 failed to grab me, I haven't played it in 2 days, where as with MGS1 & 2 I was on them non stop.

I have a short attention span. I only played GTA4 for the first few missions, then stopped playing it. Reached the second disk on Lost Odyssey, then stopped playing it. MGS4? I stopped playing it after that girl started making fried eggs at the start. I have loads of games that I haven't even opened or put in my computer.

Maybe I just can't be bothered with it, or maybe it is just my atten... Meh.

im bored of it all. Tempted to sell my pc and consoles.

I got a wii, ps3 and pc.

Got loads of games, never played any of them.

I have these on the shelf, hardly them, some got 4-5 hours some got 5 mins:

mario galaxy
metriod prime
donkey kong jet race - played for 5 mins
res evil 4 - not even opened
wii makrio kart - played for 2 hours or someting
Im sure theres more on the wii but i cant remember anymore.

ps3:
devil may cry 4 played for 5 mins
uncharted - half way through i think
assassins creed - played for an hour
burnout - played for 3 hours
GTA played for 10 hours, not touched it since a week after release
MGS4 - played for an hour, didnt see the attaction will prob gather dust like all the others
fifa 08 - played it a handful of times

PC -
played tf2 a lot recently, until 2 weeks ago RL took over
css - played to deathj 04-06 now totally bored of it
cod4 - boring played abit online when first released
mass effect - played first level not touched since
stalker - remains un-opened

Your not alone, games are boring. Think I better stop buying them lol

I tend to find that it goes in stages, a few months (winter) where gaming is fun, and summer where life takes over and going out and pubs take priority.

a game hasn't gripped me for a while now, though i have enjoyed many games and finished all the ones i have bought.

that is until mgs4 arrived, i played non-stop till sp was done then moved onto online play straight away and i'm about to restart sp on a harder settings to get the awards. I can see online lasting me a loooong time.

i also think battlefield bad company also has huge potential, i was played the demo non stop till mgs4 arrived. tekken 6 / soul calibur 4 also have huge potential depending how well the internet matches are done. a game must have a competitive scene/nature to have any appeal for me after the initial single player mode.

also what is it that frustrates you are playing games?

For games like mass effect, buy a walkthrough. You will find it will probably be a lot more enjoyable if you find you get stuck, and you can just have a quick check to see where you have gone wrong. I know what its like to be looking for something and not being able to find it - sort of thing that puts me off games too.

Also, get away from shooting games. Sounds like thats what you have been playing more than anything. Try something like Ninja Gaiden 2, the Lego games, or something like Alone in the Dark which is out this Friday. Just something far removed from what you have been playing.

On PC, I was almost exclusively an FPS player, and eventually got so bored with it all. Then I got my 360 and have been playing all sorts of games, and the variety has really rekindled my enthusiasm :)

Edit: Oh, and don't buy loads of games. Jsut get one at a time. I find that when I have too many to play it makes me indecisive and less likely to devote enough time to one before moving on to something else.

Im the same, ive just got MGS4 and ive played about 20 mins of it. Im playing COD4 on the PC a lot at the minute, but all the same not nearly as much as I used to.

i usually only play the multiplayer side of games n thats it now, ever since i first started online gaming with quake2 , just can't be bothered playing solo, much better killing and annoying other people then Npc's

If you want a game with a good story line then like these guys are saying you can't go wrong with MGS4, although be prepared to do about as much watching of cutscenes as actually playing the game (and If you've not played the previous ones then I'd avoid it because the storyline is quite complicated to say the least :)).

I can empathise with you though (gam3r) because I seem to be playing less and less games at the moment. I used to play COD4 online on the PC a lot but then when I reached the final rank I just seemed to get bored with it. I dunno, it might be a sign to move onto somethin' else or don't just solely play games all the time. I find if I get bored with my games I start playing my guitar, and when I go back to playing video games they're interesting again :D lol

Im 27 with two kids. I dont have time to play games let alone complete them. Stop whinging! :)

I think as you get older and have less time to play games the less appealing they get. I find i need to play games with short levels that I can complete in 30 mins/1 hour.

i dont play as much as i used to now either, i was a complete bf2/2142 fan and being on them for 5;pm till gone midnight every night, now i just play the ps3 for an hour or so.

im sloly making my way through R;fom which is quite good, and ive got heavnly sword/gta4 and oblivion to run through.

although BF badcompany is realy fun.

A few games have had me for a while - RTCW was one for me as well (seen you on Pappas Tram pigfarmer!) - then WoW took over. 4000 hours later (literally) I'm deliberately avoiding PC games and MMOs in particular to play some console stuff.

I got DMC4 on my Xbox, halfway through that, then I got part way through Uncharted before going to Ratchet and Clank - which I did play through - strangely gripping game :)

Recently GTA 4 has had my attention, though I'm finding it a bit monotonous and just play the multiplayer now. Then MGS4 came out and I probably would have finished it by now if Euro 2008 wasn't on. However I am avoiding the MP until I clear the game to avoid potential distractions :D

Pretty much exactly the same as me. Online gaming since '99, dialing up on BT 56K and playing Team Fortress Classic with every free moment of time. Played that for probably 6 years at a high level, with a stint of DAoC in the middle.
Not really been grabbed by much else in that time to be honest, games don't hold me for very long now :(.
