I'll be 32 soon and have never owned a mobile phone. I feel that if I did it would be like wearing a collar and leash. Was wondering if anyone else on here has never owned one?

may i be the first to say

WWWWWWWWWWWWhat ?

in all seriousness though, if you have never needed one you dont know what you are missing

i bet if you had one for a week you wouldnt go back to being without

I worked with a guy who was in his 30s and never had a mobile, he just didn't see the need for it. Fair play to the guy, he felt the same way as you about it in terms of people assuming you can be contacted at all hours. People would always have his home number or his work number, and chances are if he wasn't at either place then he was doing something that he didn't want to be interrupted at.

I could probably do without if I had to, not tried though.

Sorry but not having a mobile phone is just silly. If you do not want to be contacted via a mobile phone, you can always turn it off. Its sensible to have even if just for emergencies.

i always had a mobile untill about a year ago, mine broke and i never replaced it. tbh i have never missed having a mobile and realised i dont need one.

i even eventually bought one of those £10 jobbies from the supermarket just to keep in the car, but even that has ended up in the kitchen drawer hardly used. i take it with for long journeys but thats it really.

i suppose people get used to the security of having a phone with them at all times and feel totally lost when they dont have it with them, i know thats how i used to feel when i
forgot mine at home ect.. but now i totally dont even miss having one at all!

OK.
What you firstly should do is get one of the best mobiles out there right now!
The Nokia 6310i
If you have never used a mobile phone you should purchase that, it's very cheap right now and it's great if you have never used a mobile phone because it is very practical and doesen't have any fancy stuff.

You could use that mobile and get use to it and gradually change your mobile if you need more things.
The Nokia 6310i has basically all the things you need to get started - great battery life, internet, etc.

I use my phone for so much more then calls. It collects my email, entertains me when I'm board (games) I even set my Sky+ Box when I've forgotten to record something. Not sure I could live without mine. Actually I don't know anyone who doesn't have a mobile...
