Is anyone else putting off getting other XBox 360 games because of the achievements?

By that i mean, im a bit of a perfectionist in some areas, and im annoyed having some games without full achievement lists :(

I realise some like ranked #1 in world wont really happen, but i got a lot of incomplete games at the moment and i dont have time with Uni to go get all the achievements, but i really hate seeing loads incomplete.

The more i buy the less time on others i have, lol.

Is it just me?

I'm not buying anymore games until I complete CoD2 and Condemned - not for the gamerpoints but because I want to complete them.

I've then got GR:AW and Burnout Revenge to be playing - and i'm also looking at getting Oblivion - I really don't want more than 3 games on the go at once.

I just hope I get CoD2 and Condemned completed before Friday or I won't be getting Oblivion on release day.

It doesn't put me off buying games - after all I buy the games to play - not for the achievements. But I guess it is a bit annoying seeing achievements you'll never be able to get. DOA4 is the worst for that.

In one way, it extends the lastability of the game though - even though I know I'll never get some of the achievements - its good fun trying.

Lies!! Your gamercard gives you away - you've been playing both Burnout and GRAW since condemmed ;) :p

As long as I get a decent amount of the achievements in a game, then I'm not too bothered.

I've only got 100% in 2 360 games so far, and at the moment I just want to finish GRAW and Kameo's SP modes.

Bit worried about Oblivion this week though and how much time that might potentially take up.

Not put off games, but to be honest it is almost influencing me to buy some games.
I am seriously considering getting fifa 2nd hand just for the acheivements, everybody seems to get 1000 in it, also king kong!! FN3 aint exactly too hard for them.
I hate games like FN3 which are lazily done, but at the same time, i hate ones like tiger woods which they are all only acheivable online, and since so little people play it online then it sucks.
GRAW although it has the achievment of being number 1 in the world, seems to be the best well balanced set so far, with the online stuff not being crazy like 1000 headshots (which i think is a PDZ one) and half of it is for offline stuff. Although not getting the normal achievement if u do it on hard is a bit wierd lol
But so far its the best imho
RR6 you need to do a lot of work to get not a lot of points. i think its good cos it keeps you going back and picking away a bit, but i mean like after completing the whole explorer i got like 25 points!!!
I think MS need to vet them first :D

Don't get me wrong im still gonna buy the games i want as soon as i can, but others they i might be tempted by i think id be put off getting to ive completed a little more on other games

I don't give a monkeys about achievements, it's nice to have to show off, but all I'm interested in is how good a game plays really, and how much I enjoy it.

Personally, I feel the most balanced is Burnout where there are many for Online and Offline, nothing really ridiculous.

I buy games to play them and enjoy, I couldn't care less whether there were 10,000,000 gamerpoints or no gamerpoints at all, I dont see what the big thing is? It does not represent skill IMO.

Gamerpoints im not fussed about

its the achievements, for me if i have'nt got them all i dont feel i've "completed" the game - this isnt about the score, i would bother getting 1000 kills in PDZ for like 30points, but i do if it shows ive completed 100% rather then 97%

Acheivements and gamerscores dont worry me. I play games for enjoyment and too relax. The fact that I have other games which dont have full achievements on yet would never stop me getting a game I wanted.

Yeah i am, i got GR:AW last week, but ive only done the training mission, as im wanting to finish King Kong off first, then ill start it, i started King Kong after id finished Condemned, as im probably like everyone else, ill end up having to many games on the go, and not finish them. :D

For me the trouble is the whole point of the 360 is great fun online, yet too many achievements are single player. The best driver ive ever raced on pgr, led me to check his gamer card, he had a score of 50.

Nothing for playing FN online yet , thats the whole point of a game like FN.

Sort of. Achievement points do give me an incentive to "do" more of the game. What is really stopping me from buying more games is the fact that I've yet to really fully complete any that I have and the high price of new games.
That is compounded by the fast rate in which many of you are offloading second hand games for 25-30 - I guess that Kong and PDZ will be well under £20 by the time I buy them - albeit 3rd hand.
