Anyone else seen a "WiFi Signal Strength Drop" issue recently?

I'm doing some straw clutching right now, so I'll post here along with other locations and see if anyone else has seen similar.
Right now I've got a number of machines being repaired. They are all located in roughly the same area and the same distance from a WiFi access point.
Nearly all of the devices are connected via WiFi and have a strength between 4 & 5 bars. However I've got two laptops (both HP's, but I think that is a coincidence) that only have a single bar of signal strength. They both come in with "connectivity to internet" issues, so the customers have been experiencing an issue in their home environment.

Have made sure both have all Windows 10 updates installed. Have installed the latest drivers for each one - latest as recommended by HP, latest directly from the manufacturer and the previous release directly from the manufacturer.
One HP has a Broadcom chipset, the other Realtek (hence why I think the fact they are both HP's is a coincidence).
Both machines have been virus/malware scanned.
Tried a system restore and, as I've been seeing more and more recently, failed - I've got a couple of older checkpoints to try if required.

Anyone seen similar recently?
