Anyone else suffering from man flu?

I have no issue with your moaning about being ill. My point is that the term "man flu" comes from man-hating women who think that men moan pointlessly when they are ill. So if your own suffering is real then you should not refer to it as man flu.

You've obviously never had 'real flu' as it's completely different to 'man flu' which is just a bad cold. I have man flu at the moment and I'm suffering badly but I'm still able to post on a PC, if I had real flu I'd not be getting out of bed let alone looking at a monitor.

Thankfully with better vaccines these days I've not really seen anyone with flu for ages.

Yep, I've got man flu at the moment and it's nothing like proper flu.
I had it properly when I was at uni and I could barely get of bed at all, two of my flatmates had to virtually carry me to the doctors.

I thought I had a bad cough until I cracked a rib and now have scaring on my lungs. A female friend said I was such a big baby:rolleyes:

I love the term manflu, it was coined for total wussy nancy boys to make them feel special. As a result, men feel pressured into NOT moaning about their illness for fear of being labelled a nancy.

I had "man flu" about three years ago according to the girl I was living with at the time. I remember waking up in hospital on a drip the next day (will I ever learn not to listen to women) :D

I had it for 24 hours on thursday, I was suffering like hell then woke up on friday and I was fine.. Must have been that whiskey in my tea that I had..

I drive my missus mad whenever I'm ill. I always try to shrug it off and get on with things when she thinks I should be wrapped up in bed and slurping on lemsip's. I've only ever conceded defeat twice and even then I couldn't wait to get back up on my feet. I blame daytime TV for my inability to lounge about all day.

I feel like death, my joints ache, I've just had my 4th hot bath of the day and I've run out of films to watch :(.

Anyone else feeling worn down with this cough/flu/cold which is going around.

*cough*

Jon

Probably why you feel like death, 4th baths in 1 day? You're probably shriveled like a prune! Go get some fresh air and clear your head, worst thing with a cold is to sit or lie down all day. Walking around or atleast standing up and moving keeps your nose clear and helps your headache!

"Man Flu" is leathal for woman - thats why men only just survive it!

Ive had it 3 times this winter and its doing my head in! I normally have great health - I feel now like I could go down with it again - or just feel run down.

Man Flu is brilliant as us men can moan and groan and get the missis to do everything for you. Seeing as they are "immune" they can't catch it. :)

Man flu here as well. It's just gone past the usual blocked nose and slight cough stage and I'm starting to feel a bit groggy and generally fed up. Lemsips seem to keep it at bay for a bit though.

I have been ill since 20th of December with Sinusitis
You might actually be ill with that instead of the flu Jon Frost as the symptoms are very similar.

I Managed to eat a little bit on xmas day but that was it.
Barely been able to concentrate on the pc, all I have done is watch films non stop.
Rest of the time I have felt to weak to get out of bed most of the time.

Both me and the GF have had a real bad cold all over xmass. This is the 6th day now and we both still feel aweful with a terrible gooey cough that hurts like hell and sneezes that make your whole upper torso feel like its been run over by a car  I can barely talk for fear of it starting another coughing fit that 50% of the time ends up with me puking my guts up or merely ends up with me enduring horrible pain. Oddly enough there was very little in the way of a runny nose, that only lasted about 2 days. On christmas day i was at least able to enjoy my dinner... boxing day was mostly in bed with a ( not quite ) fever and those horrible hot and cold sweats and the sort of whacko dreams that go with them.

Normally i shrug off colds easily but this one really wants to cause agony it seems. 6 of my friends have it and several of her friends do as well... seems either it is a new strain making the most of the time of year or the start of the end of mankind!!
