heya guys and thanks for letting me on your site...
i signed up because i noticed lots of gigabyte mobo owners just like me. anywayz im as green as they come when it comes to overclocking but i sure have determination and after countless hours of farting around i finally figure out some 4.0 turbo and HT settings that work and are quite stable on Prime95. im trying to get this sucker up to 4.2 with HT and turbo and id sure would be curious to see anyone elses ex58-ud5 numbers. and if anyone has any suggestions on how make these ones more stable thatd be grreat! thanks and cheers!!

I dont think you need 1.4 vcore that sort of clock, your load temps must be high? With turbo on you need BLCK 200x21 and turn your memory multi to 8
 
wow thanks for your prompt reply bud! my load temps are 65 with the boreas and ill try your suggestion and let you know..i was just going to ask a question about the ratios and which one is best..

does anyone know the relationship between these combinations and the different VOLTAGES? in other words what do you need to do to compensate for increasing the ratio?
and what do you need to do to compensate for higher bclks? and with my mobo and 965 what do they like best?

thanks again... heres what i did
ive tried 200x21 mem multi 8 and no go
tried 200x21 vcore=1.39375 mem multi=8 qpivtt=1.335 cpu pll=1.88 qpipll=1.36 and no go
tried above with vcore=1.4 no go
tried 150x28 vcore=1.425 memmult=10 qpivtt=1.355 qpipll=1.34 and start up ok but occt crashed
tried same but dram=1.6 cpupll=1.9 qpivtt=1.355 and crash

then i worked on higher ratios and the best i could get was
tried 140x30=4.2 cpupll=1.34 qpivtt=1.355 vcore=1.425 dram=1.6 qpipll=1.34 pcie=1.5 iohcore=1.16 ichi/o=1.5 ichcore=1.2
the above passed occt 6 min test but prime failed after 3 tests

finally i tried working the percentages from 3.8 to 4.0 which both are stable and then getting to 4.2
all at 28x150
- vcore=1.45 qpivtt=1.355 cpupll=1.9 qpipll=1.4 and no go
-vcore 1.4625 qpivtt=1.355 cpupll=1.9 qpipll=1.5 and no go
-vcore 1.4625 qpivtt=1.355 cpupll=1.9 qpipll=1.5 + 30x140 dram1.8 iohcore=1.3 ichcore=1.3 and nope!

thats it for now hope that makes sense. with my mobo and 965 should i use higher bclks or higher ratios?? does one take more voltages?
