I'm getting a really slow connection to most sites right now, with quite a lot of sites totally uncontactable! OCUK works good as does google.co.uk but practically all .com sites are unreachable. Anyone else experiencing problems?

LOL. I'm not actually downloading porn right now. But incidently the Slackware DVD iso IS downloading fine. I'd be surprised if that was the cause of the problem tho, cos certain sites. Like this one are loading up really fast, so it can't be simply hogging all the bandwidth.

Try "Repair" on the connection?

It could be the ISP; it has happened to me before.

I'm connecting through a router, so there's no "repair" function. I could just try switching eberything off and back on again which would have the same effect. I'll try that and see if it helps.

bit torrent websites hogg bandwith like no tommorrow . i have to stop all downloads and hey presto my internet is fast again. if not try rebooting your modem, maybe you are getting DOS attacks or being hijacked. Good luck

If you are in Windows XP is it not on the context menu for the connection to the router in the Network Connections window?

I'm finding a lot sites hosted in America quite slow tonight, possibly related, possibly not (not downloading anything here)

Yeah I could repair the LAN connection to the router if I wanted, but I don't think that's the problem. I'm getting good pings to the router.

I'm with NTL and it was going quite slow a moment ago, I exited out of azureus and it still did it.
Guess it's not just me then.

Not seeing any issues on our infrastruture here at this ISP, nor can I see any issues with the main peers (internet backbone) Telia, Abovenet or the UK's Lynx exchange.
