Anyone else's text gone funny after latest Chrome update?

Just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this. I had a notification that Chrome needed to be restarted to apply an update. When I did that, the text looked different and weird, much more like the fuzzy anti-aliased text of Internet Explorer but also...erm, just different.

Or is there a setting I need to look at?

Yep, same for me. Not sure if there's a way to change but I seem to have gotten used to it already, can't notice any differences anymore.

This is a known issue on Windows systems and is due to a change in the way fonts are displayed. I don't have the details to hand but it is documented and there is a setting in the advanced settings. Or maybe the nerd settings.

I am trying the 64 bit beta and getting huge memory leaks.

Fix appears to be:-

In Chrome, visit: chrome://flags/#disable-direct-write and click "Enable" to disable DirectWrite then relaunch the browser if the underline issue is bothering you

Nice one, that blur was giving me a major headache and I wasted half my morning trying to fix it.
