Used to rent with a mate a few years ago, three floors in total - we were situated on the top floor.
To begin with it wasn't bad, somewhat quiet and the corridor / stairs were well maintained. Then the oven packed in during day two - took 5 weeks for the landlord to replace it after countless voicemail's...
After a few weeks we had a bit of a weirdo of a neighbor who was into drink & drugs, out most nights and used to have parties every Friday evening - soon put a stop to that after randomly bumping into the mother outside who in fact didn't live there. Another neighbor who had a drunken ex who would attempt to visit twice a week by ringing buzzers, shouting at open windows to be let in and somehow always managed to get in downstairs despite not having a key & would then proceed to bang on said neighbors door for half an hour before leaving... Never did find out who kept always letting him in... And letting in cold calling people as well who would knock on every door!
One occurrence that used to happen weekly were a foreign couple who lived right beneath us when they were trying for a baby... Never, had I heard anything like that in my life up until that point

As time went on the whole place started to become run down, the hall / stair lights started packing in slowly as the weeks went by and were never replaced despite complaining to the relevant people... Coming home late at night used to be a nightmare to trek upstairs in pitch black. Needless to say we only stayed there for the six month tenancy
Was not sorry to see the back of that place, moving into a house straight after was like night & day.
