Anyone ever own an Acorn computer?

our primary school had a load of them, once we had done our work we could go on the computers for the rest of the lesson :D

we had some flight sim where if you went over the enemy shadows you killed their plane xD also a pacman rip off called ladybug or something, around the world in 80 days was the fave game i think.

oh no wait lemmings!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!! MOTHER FUUU....................... LEMMINGS :D OMG played that game sooooooooo much

I just remembered another one ...... lets see if anyone else remembers it :D

"wahaaaa" ...... *splat*
"bye bye" ........ *splat*
"whoaaa" ...... *boing*
etc.

That game was sooo wrong but damn funny. What would the pc crowd make of it now?

To help you out, you had a trampoline and were trying to catch people.

Love threads like this -
Another Acorn electron owner here, spent hours with the introductory tape and marslander and turtleproc. I also spent many hours at Holborn Library where they had a bbc b micro playing castle quest, frak, contraption and magic mushrooms.

Far far too many games on both systems too mention really. Loved all the superior software games and of course acornsoft.

As per a previous post, I spent hours on end hacking code only to discover it never worked also :)

Man, punching machine code into a basic interpretor/compiler was a blunt way of doing things :) set me up for more woe when I hacked on 68000 via devpac2 and the ST.

Happy days :)

I had a Acorn Electron, BBC B, An Archimedes in a desktop case (model escapes me atm) and currently have a A3000 in the loft i forgot about!!!

Chuckie Egg, Frak, Elite and Star fighter 3000 were the best games i remember :)

Also had one at primary school, was awesome :D One game I remember quite well, you controlled a ball (kind of like a metal marble) and went forwards through stages, about as best as I can desribed it :( Anyone know what that would've been?

My first machine was an Acorn Electron, it was awesome. Repton was probably the most played, along with a Pacman clone called Snapper. Think there was a platformer called Hobgoblin as well. Even my folks played back then, fun times!

Started with an Electron and moved up to a BBC Model B. Spent way too long playing the Repton series, Elite and Revs.

Bought a BBC Model A with the saved up proceeds of my paper round, then upgraded to a Model B. Later Bought an Archimedes A310 and finally an A440.

Played Elite, Zalaga, Frak, Chuckie Egg, Thrust, Revs, Aviator, Sentinel and Chocks Away on the BBC amongst many others, along with loads of text adventures mostly from Level 9.

Archimedes was mainly for software dev, but did play Zarch and the tank game Conqueror.

I remember a game that involved you versus a pixelated dude and you had a paddle thing, shuttle puck I think it was called. Really can't remember.

Yup.

In fact might still have it kicking about somewhere!

Repton + Chuckie Egg, and this weird castle game! Brilliant games.

Yeah I got an Acorn Electron for my birthday chuffed bits I was haha:p

I remember cadging money of my parents to buy the games on good 'ole tape cassettes, My fav game was Way of the Exploding Fist.
