Hey guys bit of an odd topic, not sure if it should be in gaming but just looking for any feedback on using a Fresnel lens for gaming. If you are wondering what an earth a fresnel lens is have a quick look here http://www.rickleephoto.com/rlcoll.htm It basically magnifies the image but also gives a sense of depth too, and you can use it to set fire to things on a sunny day.
Most of the people I have heard using one have raved on about them and say it adds lots of extra depth to the image, almost a kind of 3d effect but not quite, and they also say they cant believe they have never used one before. I am thinking about trying it out as I do like a few Sims and the guys on the Arma forums say it's superb. It's meant to be a little tricky to set up the right focal length and the picture does look slightly blurred etc but the majority seem to rate it very highly but you have to see it in person to see what it's all about.
A few examples here.
