Anyone ever worked at an Apple Retail Store?

Hi guys, just been into the highcross today and went into the apple store and I thought - ooooooooooo, wouldnt mind a job here!

Just wondered what the basic salary is, and what it is like working for a company like apple. I know a friend who is sort of a rep who works at my store selling macs, and he loves it!
 
My mate is a manager at an apple reseller, he quite likes it. Think the salary is reasonable for retail, but I think the work is quite easy.
 
Suppose you'd need to be a proper people person, whenever I've been in, they're constantly being pestered about broken ipods etc. You'd need to have patience.
 
I'd definitely consider it if there was one opened in Portsmouth, something I've contacted Apple about coincidentally :)
 
I do :) I work in the back area it's actually a reasonably good job for retail. Usually a lot of fun surprisingly. Some good guys I've met there, and usually they're not all Mac afficionados, last friends I've made use PC's play FPS', they play football, snooker etc :D

Ahhh right nice :)

Do you know what the salary is mate? Also do they get commission or anything like that? Looking at being a Specialist if that helps :)

Fair enough. :) I work in clothing, it's a little less "sell sell sell".

Please wear deodorant though, don't think the guys in Glasgow have heard of it. :p

To be quite fair in clothing its more tills, changing rooms or putting out stock isnt it?

Would love a job at the apple store :)
 
Yes - I think it is a massive 40% once a year purchase (AFAIK). And you get a free iPhone... or at least they were last year. Dunno about now.
 
As an employee of Apple you are not allowed to discus these details for obvious reasons but its a great place to work and the only way to find out is to have a go, and see, if its not for you then you can always get another job.
