Have been offered a job on the side at the weekend working for a company called Picture Pal, basically a nightclub photography thing, where you take and sell pictures to the punters, but a search online reveals some worrying comments from people who have been employed by the company before and now I'm wondering if it's worth my time or going to be a terrible experience that I'll regret even having considered. Anyone here worked for them before? know someone that has?

I'm guessing it's a bit like smileonthetiles and the like, may make you a (tiny) bit of money but I'm guessing you'll be treated like dirt and have to use your own equipment?

They provide the equipment. However a lot of the comments i read said that you are hired as a self-employed photographer and not actually under them, meaning your liable from any mishaps or problems and that they can alter pay as they see fit. :s

My friend had this job at the beginning of the education year.. she didn't like it so quit after a few months, but let's just say by the time she quit she was the longest running employee lol. Also, after her 3rd shift or something, she was promoted to assistant manager (no pay rise as most pay is done on commision) and was teaching new employees even though she hadn't even finished her training haha. Plus she said there's absolutely no management or communication.

So if it's going to be anything like that, I wouldn't do it. Well I would.. for a few weeks, just to see what it was like, provided I had no offers/interviews for other jobs lined up.

Yeh thats pretty much what the comments I read said. That people were asked to train new people when they had only been on for a couple shifts themselves. Think I'll give it a miss then.
