Hey all, as title really. Anyone up for some CoH MP. I'm a complete noob to MP though so I won't be much of a challenge but it might be fun :)......

I'll check back to this thread around half five - six.......

See ya then :)

I remember when this was in beta, loved it even though it was mega buggy.. never did get round to buying the full version.. might keep an eye out.. i think its on steam but they have inflated prices.. :(

I recommend Company Of Heroes to everyone. The single player campaign is wonderfully refreshing and exciting. The multiplayer is very interesting and fun - In fact it's one of the best multiplayer games I've played.

CoH is pretty much the only game i have played properly in the last 2 years (other than a brief spell with TF2) it is without a doubt the best rts ive ever played and i am still totally addicted to it.

Sadly i dont play it as much as i would like due to other commitments... should be up for some games over the weekend though if ** interested add me DJammyRasta

I think CoH has been one of my favourites of late too... would be more than happy to have a game online now and then...
My online name is :- "LittleNose" ..... funny that ;)

ive just been playing for like ages getting spammed hard by arty was not fun :( but then pushing back with a some german steel and good old Panzer Elite infantry was awsome :D

I will be on some other time most likely but feel free to add me my name is Jongo

I've got this installed again.

My forum name is my ingame name, but I don't have the expansion, and I'm an ultra noob.

I have never played CoH or any other game of the Genre how easy would it be to learn to play ?

CoH is very easy to learn the basics, but to be good is quite difficult... i'm certainly not there yet

the hardest part when i reinstalled was waiting for all the updates to install when trying to connect to online... took a fair while for some reason, but i'm all set to go :)

The single player is a good place to start and get the basics down, but to play online is a totally different game where the micromanagement needed to win is a lot higher

Unlike most games that have a rock paper scissors system of hard unit counters coh has more soft counters meaning if used correctly most units can beat any other unit

An example of this would be the stug, technically a good tank with a decent punch to it and very impressive front armour.. It is let down by its lack of a turret though meaning any unit fast enough to get behind it (and stay there) can chip away at its health without it being able to shoot back. Of course to counter this the stug should reverse backwards preferably into a wall widening the circle the other vehicle has to take to keep strafing it allowing the stug more of a chance to return fire

I recommend any of the n00bs thinking of playing online first play some skirmishes against the computer player and check out the gamesreplays.org forums for other beginner guides else risk facing people that have had the game for 2 years ;)

Turned up for my night shift and was told I am off!! So I've been asleep all day and will be playing all night should anyone care to join me and perhaps offer some (A LOT!!) of pointers..........?

:)

How about setting up a timefor this once a week where anyone who's free turns up online and hopefully a few others will be there ?
