This is what I was thinking of upgrading to, any see anything that will conflict / does not go together ?

Also if there is a better and cheaper gfx card (nvidia) I would be open to suggestions on the GFX Card Only.

So, you have made a thread asking whether this system is good, but will only take suggestions on the graphics card? Get a 4850.

Do you already own this stuff or is this a new system?

Also, no point contradicting yourself by saying that you won't take suggestions for anything but the graphics card, but title your thread' Anyone Foresee a Problem With This System'. Not only does it confuse us, it is also damn rude.

I would change the GPU to the ATI 4850 series as this beats the 8800 GTX and is only single slot and perhaps change the board to the P45 series, Asus range seem to be recommended.

No, I made a thread asking if any of the components will / will not work together cause I dont want to buy it all to find that say the processor isnt compatible with the motherboard or the memory wont work with the mobo.

I was looking for a GTS card but couldnt find one in the 8800 range so went for hte GTX but wondered if the ones below that are around half the price are pretty much the same.

I want the processor I have chosen cause I do mostly gaming and not much encoding so wont need quad core and the speed should be sufficient enough to last a while, I am only familiar with Corsair memory so would rather stick to what I have rather than people offering choices for other makes / speed / brand as it dont take much to confuse me and I start to question everything and it ends up taking weeks to make a final decision. I was jut inquiring as to if I would have a problem with any of the compenents

Well you've picked the wrong CPU to go for at that price, but if you've already made your mind up, fair enough.

And motherboard as well.

You are a fool if you go for that over priced, old tech cpu over a dual core E8500. The Wolfdales are faster, cooler, more energy efficient and also costs less.

Basically the same with the graphics card. You would be better off with a 4850/4870. If you want to stick with Nvidia at least go for a GTX 260 and not a card that came out two years ago.

Can you guys get off his back? He asked if there was anything wrong with his spec, help him out instead of flamin him.

Hows this?

Above machine beats the one in the OP hand over fist, even I want one... save £20 on the HDD by getting the 320 version, and not going for a modular PSU to save a bit more, won't come in much more pricey than than the thread opener then :)

Yep def a 4850 or 4870 gfx card. Def a wolfdale CPU, an 8400 or 8500 will be great. And a 320 or 640gb hard drive for sure - the performance difference of these over an 80gb is quite phenomenal.

Go for what icey_haj suggested although you could go for the geil ram which work at lower voltages for the same price and the asus 4850which has 3 years warranty and is cheaper. The non modular corsair psus are also quite a bit cheaper as well.

Ok, I will losen up and take advice but bear in mind I like to stick to what I know which is the following.

Asus Motherboards
Nvidia Graphics Cards
Corsair, Enermax.

The only reason I chose an 80GB + 320 GB was to have Operating System on 80GB, whilst having 320GB For Gaming so anything bigger isnt really nessecary.

The above suggestions as I knew they would have started to confuse me and the build someone posted also is more in cost than mine by almost £100.

To be honist you might as well get 2 320gig wd's and raid 0 them (it'll be faster than an individual drive from the os) and is about £10 more

I can understand some brand loyalty so get a gtx 260 (roughly the same price as the 8800gtx you originally saw)

Enermax make lovely psu's (im also a fanboy of them) aim for a 500-600W one of them

ASUS havnt been in my good books since my an8sli died so ill jsut say get a the cheapist p35 or p45 and you'll be smiling
