Hi

Is anyone from Bradford? I visited your lovely city today, I can't remember if I ever been before but those hills will certainly remind me that I've been from now on.
I do tend to come back as I have a friend that lives there..

Quick question for you... why do you have three shopping centres?!!?
I went to one called Broadway, then found another two one called Kirkgate and then another one called Oast???...

I didn't have time to ask my friend today; but he's not local and he's only just moved to Bradford a few years ago, so I'm not sure if knows..

You've never been to a town with more than 1 shopping centre(s)? I assume you mean Shopping Mall/Covered Market?
Do you live in the UK? This is completely normal. Nearly all towns have had different Markets for different produce/products/livestock back in the day.
Nowadays they obviously don't sell cows and sheep so they have evolved into normal shops/stalls selling Vapes and phone cases :p
It’s normal to have one or two… or a shopping centre for a different region but they have three across the road from each other.

To answer your question OP

Kirgate was the old shopping center, and broadway was part of the new redevelopment scheme to replace kirgate. Kirgate is still kicking along but is for lower end shopping / not much known brand names. Most of the big brands moved to broadway shopping center.

Oastler (or John street market as I know it) is more of a market / stalls things with small traders, fresh fruit and veg / second hand stalls etc. I used to hate going as a kid as I knew it meant £5 school shoes  .
Thanks.. I had to breath in the atmosphere of the market stalls, not been to a market place in over 15 years or so.. I was amazed that you could by trousers for the less than the price I had just paid for a coffee and croissants at neros. I must have looked quite out of place as a lovely stall girl did ask if I was lost..

I do like looking at junk in car boots and when I’m a board.. lol

I guess it’s just me that likes the stone houses.. the weirdness that how a house roof can be on the same level as the houses next door’s ground floor. It’s all so quirky..

Awful place to drive in. It's like being in a different world with its own rules.
I drove aboard in a few countries, never have I seen a roundabout where there’s no lights at the entry but there’s lights on the roundabout itself.. lol
