I've not played a NFL game in about 5 years! Anyone else getting this - I'm still in two minds about it as I'm a complete NFL noob :(

The last Madden game I bought was NFL 09 and I loved it. Played the death out of it and found it really fun and refreshing compared to the usual sports games I play. I'll probably pick this up once it comes down in price a little bit, I want to get FIFA 12 and NHL 12 on launch instead. :)

I download the demos for NHL, NFL etc each year and think - yeah fun sports game. But never pick a copy up, last NFL game I actually purchased was the first one for the Amiga - i kid not.. lol

Last NHL game I purchased as NHL 08, and last Fifa game I picked up was Fifa Road to World cup...

Each year, new version, get the demo never buy the full version.. lol

That's a fair one. I got it in my lunch as I'm too inpatient to wait for NHL so will trade it in next week and £5 for the NHL game if I don't like this :)

Well I had it preordered from game, then it never came so I sent an angry email off to Royal Mail and I'm about to get out of work to go buy it in store :) Will sell my late arrival copy to a mate next week.

Any tips for a complete noob who doesn't follow the sport? :D

I am tempted to get it now (or maybe Madden 11 on the cheap) as I found myself watching it a lot again when I went on holiday.

This is the first year that I won't be buying it and the same go's for NHL & FIFA.

Personally I plumped for NCAA 12 on the PS3, (College football for those that don't know) as it's the superior game. Both done by EA yet different devs and the games are so vastly different. By all accounts from my friends who have the new Madden game and those that have played various versions of NCAA, they alike the new Madden to several versions ago of NCAA.

The run game and especially the tackling are infinitely better in NCAA and make for better games plus the online dynasty mode is fantastic compared to the franchise mode in Madden (which they haven't altered an iota this year).

I would recommend getting Madden 10 or 11. Better game and 11 had broken zone defence and awful playaction.

Just tried the demo and must say its great improvement over 11, still not sure if to get this tho as last years online play was broken.

Mine arrived yesterday :) Not played it yet but will probably get stuck into it tonight, feel free to add me to XBL if anyone has it on Xbox.

I have bought every madden since like 96 on the mega drive, its awesome although I got this one on the PS3 as my nfl loving mate only has a ps3 and I normally get it on xbox so the controls are doing my head in

PS, anyone hoping to get this cheap. Don't hold your breath, the Madden games always hold their value until it gets close to the next release.

Man I suck at this, I throw the ball and my guys fumble it or it's forever intercepted, they throw there ball and I position my guy in front of it and I can't get them to jump and catch to turn it around -.- I'm sure I'll get there but man is it hard.

Play to your team's strength but like with most competitive games look to surprise your opponents now and again, for example I'm a Giants fan so I play as them all the time and in recent years (not so much now) the Giants were a power running team. So I'd normally run the ball around 65% of the time but first play of the game I would come out and do play action and try a quick strike down the field. Football is just like a really violent game of chess =)

Who do you play as mostly anyway?
