Hopefully Ubisoft won't have totally wrecked it this side of the pond. I know they're only the publishers but they haven't earned my trust on PS3 titles yet. :p

Haven't had a good go on it since I finished the main campaign on the 360 last year so it will be nice to try out the Brotherhood / Fighters Guild quests which I never finished. And the Knights of the Nine, too!

May pick it up!

Just selling some Components from my PC which i used to run it on, so cant play it on that anymore!

And the 360 version was awful.

Hopefully the PS3 version will run and look better!

*Fingers Crossed!*

Aye, I'll be picking it up on Friday. My good lady is away all weekend too, so I should get a good chance to get into it. I have it on PC, though it's not really up to the job, so I'm hoping it'll look and run much more nicely on the PS3.

It'll be the same as the 360 version. The 360 version was patched recently to include the improvements the PS3 version has.

Is that true? Got it on PC and love it but was wanting to get the 360 version and start over again from the comfort of my sofa. Would i be disappointed?

Not going by what ripper just said

the only reason the console versions are pretty sucky is because you can't fix the game with mods like you can on the PC

I got it a few weeks ago. Very good too. I think the loading times are quicker than the 360 but that might be just be my imagination. I'll have to delve into it more, soon.

Not true. 360 game has been patched to match the Ps3 game visually. But the PS3 hardware still means the game performs better on the PS3. With regards to Loading times

"The PS3 version of Oblivion isn't a simple port of the game either, although players who have picked up the 360 version will be very familiar with the control scheme. For one thing, the PS3 version has been optimized to take advantage of the Cell processor and hardware that the system offers. As a result, the game runs a lot faster than the 360 build. Entering dungeons or buildings results in a load of 3-5 seconds, compared to the 7-10 seconds or longer for the 360 version of the game. Similarly, the amount of framerate drops or hitches that cropped up in the wilderness as you accessed a new area on the 360 have been substantially reduced on the PS3 version. There is a plan to completely eradicate these issues as the game nears release, as well as fixing a number of bugs that were present in the other builds. Kiss the item duplication glitch goodbye.

I completed the main story on PC version, then turned into a vampire and couldnt find a cure so I quit.

I will get it on PS3 though, because there is so much I haven't seen.

THe PS3 loading times are reduced, with the main reason being because of blu-ray, they have multiple copies of the levels on different parts of the disk so a lot of the loading is now 'sequential' improving access times, and loading times, this I think is a good idea in using up some of the 'wasted' space..

Other 'differences' between versions are
1. PS3 has better draw distance on some levels (Less pop-up)
2. 360 has 'more' hi-res textures (but these are incredibly difficult to spot)
3. 360 has different lighting techniques(not sure which people prefer..)

Saying all this, who cares, they are essentially identical, if you are the sort of person that 'cares' about these things and can't rest at night unless you have the 'vastly' superior version then you can't be much of a gamer..
