Just wondering if any PS3 Owners with RFOM are going to get the new maps on thursday, theres also an update which gives you a link to your friends list on the XMB (not the XMB though) via a tab on the game and some other extras. If the maps are US at the moment only, as it might be as i havent seen a euro date yet, think there $8 for both maps, with 4 versions for each new map for different amount of players. I may be generous and share it with a couple of you without US credit cards, if anyone wants it.

I'll be getting them as i love this game online, and i'd also like you to share your account with me again so i can get the maps :p :o please :D

I'm gonna get them, I assume they will be on EU and USA stores at the same time so I think I will just get whichever is cheaper. Also the free patch makes it use worldwide servers now, instead of regionalised ones. I am assuming you can use either map pack as the usa and uk copies are the same (I think).

Don;t forget only 5 people can login on your ID to download the paid items again (I've not tried 6, I share mine with 5, but I am sure I read somewhere the limit is 5 users).

I will get it if it is 8 quid for the 2 maps, but iirc it is 8 quid per map, so they can shove it if that is the case.

Opps i meant 8 bucks a map, still not great though.

The EU price and release date are still TBC, shock there.

How does this work?

I tried to let someone log into my rpofile on their PS3 and it wouldn't allow it. Does another profile have to be set up with those settings?

paying for maps is joke, I dont have a PS3 YET! but I have a 360 and there is no way I am go pay for extra maps!

sony and ms should let us have them for free!

Yes and No.

Sure it sucks having to pay for maps but then again playing online on the PS3 is free.

The other person creates a profile with any name they want (far left section of XMB). Then when they sign in for this new profile when they go the friends list or network section (far right of XMB) it will say "sign up for PLaystation Network" then you can pick to sign in with an existing ID, then you give them your details and they sign in. Then if they login to the Store and go to the download list (all items you download disappear from the main store and move to download list after they are downloaded/bought). They should just be able to click and downlaod it.

From what I read only 5 people can share content, I have not gone over 5 yet (I share with exactly 5 including me).

Edit: Can anyone confirm if the maps are on US store yet? I am at work so can't check. I checked before I left at 8am and nothing new was there.
I want the new maps but have never really played online with many other OCUKers which is why I am gonna think about it before I buy the maps later today.

There is nothing new on the uk or usa stores as of yet :(

I love RFOM online, however it gets a bit tedious as you move up the ranks.

May check out the maps if they get good reviews & are cheap as chips

im failing to see the comedy in this thread that would make someone laugh so much
Do you have to jump on my posts all the time? Give it a rest already.

Funny because it would make a total joke out of whoevers distributing it, or set the price at that.

No maps or patch etc today :(

Hi everyone,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have an statement from Greg Phillips regarding the Global Servers.

Also, to be clear, the Map Pack depends on the patch, the patch depends on global servers. Therefore we cannot release anything until we have the global servers in place.

Thanks,
JS

This feels like déjà vu… A really bad case of déjà vu

Last week, I had the pleasure of unveiling our planned release date of June 7th for the Resistance: Fall of Man map packs and content update. That was on May 31st, the last day of May and the date we (SCEA and Insomniac) had promised when we unveiled this waive of DL content.

On that June 7th release date, I have some unfortunate news to share. During our final testing of the global server, which removes regional play restrictions for those who want some international flair in the multiplayer experience, a few last minute issues have come up. Despite some extremely long hours by all those involved, the unfortunate fact remains that we cannot resolve these issues prior to our announced launch date. And, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, neither SCEA nor Insomniac wants to release something to our ever-growing community which will impede the experience.

Hence the déjà vu feeling mentioned above.

The one bit of good news is these issues are NOT related to the content update or map packs themselves, and both have cleared format QA groups worldwide. In other words, everything is ready to go from the game side; we just have some kinks to iron out to complete the integration of our global community. Rather than announce a new date at this time, I want to see these issues resolved first to prevent any more cases of déjà vu on this topic.

What I can promise are two things: first, this last delay won’t be too long. Second, once it is out and you have a chance to play the new maps or your buddies from across the world, you’ll be happy we took the time to get this right.

Right, back to work.

Thanks,
