Anyone getting this? I remember playing the first one (I think) on PS2 and it was quite fun. Normally movie games are crap but I enjoyed this.

Thought I'd get this on the PS3 instead of on the 360 as there is a Collectors edition which has an extra playable character and some other stuff. It may come out as DLC for 360 later, but I reckon the will probably look the same on both consoles give or take a bit.

I think it's out on every conceivable format on the same day as the movie is released on Friday.

Going to get the PS3 exclusive edition this friday, looks fun i enjoyed the spidey2 game on ther PS2 (not the PC version though). Wasnt sure if it was worth the extra £10 or so but if i didnt id only want to know what i was missing :D

Its more than a tenner. The normal edition can be had for £38 online. But the Collectors Edition is exclusive to a certain games store in the UK. They are charging £55 !! £17 pounds more. Normally it tends be £40 for normal games and £50 for CE. They are taking the mick,I can;t understand why it is exlclusive to 1 shop only.

Thankfully the games are region free so I have ordered a USA CE one for £40 ;)

Got PS3 version pre-ordered with purple shirt's website. Still down as this friday for release date though!

Normal or CE edition? The place I ordered my CE from in USA shows 22nd May now.

I am confused about all this delay stuff. Is it just the PS3 version that is delayed?

Canadian place i use has it as 4th of May, which is an odd day since north america tends to be Tuesdays. Also the CE is only £35 there, might need to invest in that.

I have ordered it from the Canadian place and it cost £39.23 inclusive of delivery. Not bad for the CE edition.

Still showing as May 4th as release date actually (must have read it wrong 1st time). I imagine I won't get it till next week, but it's better than paying £55 for it.

Ps3 version has slipped to end of may just made a phone call

UK sites now showing 22nd. The Canadian place I ordered from still showing 4th May, so I have e-mailed them to confirm. I suppose delay could be UK only, although unlikely.

It must be uk only, I have people on my FL playing it already and if you look at the mygamercard site you can see people playing it. So it must have been launched someehere in the world?

How are these people playing the game before it is released? Do you mean the 360 version? I think people are saying the delay is just for PS3 version :(

I can get a legit copy today for the 360 from my local inderpendant store if i really want to but i want to build up my ps3 collection so going to wait for that

From the place I ordered mine:

This delay seems to only be in the UK. It will be shipping on May 4th.

Thanks,

If you want it early just order from a US/Canada import site.

This is for the CE edition, but I imagine same goes for the normal edition.

Ooops I thought they were on about the 360. My bad. Keep forgetting RP has both. That was my mistake, I know how the 360 ones are being played I thought as RP was meaning the 360 release. Teletraan, I just realised your nismo :D preferred the old name :p

Thought I'd get this on the PS3 as it's the first multi platform game where the PS3 version seems to have more content (although it may be available on DLC on 360 later).

The PlayStation 3 version of Activision's game will release two weeks later than planned.

This Friday (May 4) sees the release of Spider-Man 3 across the world and it's expected to be one of the biggest movies of the year, if not in movie history. To coincide with this momentous event Activision will release the video game based on the movie.

May 4 was to be the day when Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PC and DS owners could experience the movie through their platform of choice, but it seems that PS3 owners will need to wait two more weeks.

Activision UK has today confirmed to Pro-G that the game of the Sony Pictures movie has indeed been delayed on PS3 and is now set for a May 18 release in the UK. No reason for the delay was given.

Rubbish really, import it if you really want it sooner.

Can you name the place where you have pre-ordered the CE edition or is it a competitor :(

Competitor, although technically OCUK do not sell USA games, which is what this place sell, but I am fairly sure they are a competitor still.

By the way when I try to add you to my PS3 friends list it says your username "jamesmorris07" is not registered. Am I doing something wrong?

Alternatively, if you got a 360. :)

Already own a 360 as well :D . Problem is this game has extra content for the PS3 version that is not in the 360 version (Extra playable character). For this reason it make more sense to get Spider-man 3 for PS3, if you own both consoles. I am assuming in other ways they are equal, although I haven't seen a review for either 360 or PS3 version yet!!

p.s. Jumpurs I have got it from that place as well. Haven't pre-ordered anything from them before (Always ordered instock ites that seem to take 3 days to get to UK), how long you reckon it will take to get to me, after Friday's release date?

I would strongly caution anyone against a blind buy on this especially for the PS3 version.

I have both X360 + PS3 and like em both but the PS3 ports I got for NFS Carbon & Splinter Cell DA were a lot worse than the X360 versions and they lacked graphical features as well as ran a lot slower.

In theory the PS3 version should be the best but missing the original release date tells you that it is probably not a great port as thats what happened to some of the other recent PS3 ports.......

The delay is purely in the UK, you go anywhere else in the world you can the PS3 version the same day. I am guessing it is logistics that is to blame for the UK delay. I am anticipating it will be the same graphics wise as the 360 version, just because all the other naff 360 to ps3 ports are older games. Plus the PS3 has extra content available if you buy the CE edition.

What format are these on out of curiousity? (can't remember if you own PS3 only or 360 as well).

Hello mate,

If you don't mind me asking, I'd assume you already checked that an import Bluray will play on the PS3?

I just went to the uk rainforest place, and although they don't sell it direct, their sellers do, at £53!!!! Popped to their .com address and it's $66, much better... ah, just rechecked, it says region free, so I guess no worries there after all. Great.

Have you imported bluray movies and stuff before? How much does it cost when you allow the cost of shipping + customs duty (if any?)

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, I'm just interested in getting this myself now.... and possibly other films, if I notice they're listed as region free. I guess now we've got 1080p as a standard, you don't have to worry about lower res NTSC disks either :) Same standard for all regions? :)

V1N.

This website:

http://bluray.lindsite.dk/
shows region 1 bvlu-rays tested on european players and shows whcih ones work. Also the import site I use has a PS3 so they test all their Blu-Rays and specify which titles work in EU machines as well.

I have a USA copy of: Superman returns, T2 & A Scanner Darkly and they all playback fine. Planet earth is not listed on that site (maybe because it is a documentary and not a film). The site I ordered from is £41.99 whcih is not bad for a 4 disc blu-ray set.

My e-mail is my Trust if you have any more questions.

I think the delivery charges from the place you are suggesting are very expensive once you add them on for international delivery.

Well my CE has been delivered apparently, so i will get a wee go at lunchtime :D

My CE is waiting at home as well, will try it when I get home.

Don't care about the reviews that much as I enjoyed the gameplay in the previous version, so as long as it is similar I will be happy.

Not bad delivery time from abroad considering it was shipped on Thu/Fri.

Edit: Might upload some screenshots of the PS3 CE edition, If I can be bothered, later.

I was quite surprised it got here as quick. Dissapointed the US don't use Tin cases for their CE's :(

Minor annoyance considering the £15 saving off the UK price.

And it is another 2.6GB install before you can play :(

My first installable game on the PS3, exciting!!!!

Just played the PS3 version and enjoying it so far.

Just swinging around exploring the city, finding tall buildings to jump off.

Annoyed I will actually have to play the missions to get the unlockable Green Goblin character.

Graphics do not seem bad on the PS3 version. Not spotted any dodgy framerates or anything yet. Graphics look similar to the 360 shots posted earlier. Jaggy lines are everywhere though when you are stationary. You don't notice it when you web sling around.
