I used to be in one of the groups that facilitated the live action displays. Every year someone would get hurt, from careless driving, from badly handled pyrotechnics, or more often from some ******** firing blank weapons dangerously close to other people.
Last time we worked there someone got a pyro pot straight in the face. We called it a day at that point.
The War & Peace show down at the Hop Farm used to have similar problems, although that was mostly after hours and there was alcohol involved. Our last attendance there was the year someone in the Vietnam group thought it'd be "really cool" to do a 'combat extraction demonstration' with an actual helicopter landing in the middle of all the display tents!

Son and I there on Sunday, went last year. Thoroughly enjoyable if you like tanks. You can also return as many times you like for the next 12 months, keeps the boy happy.
