Hi,

I've currently got 2 24" 1080p screens that are a few years old and am thinking up upgrading. I recently saw a few 34" curved screens in the flesh and really liked it - so am thinking of going that way. However I'll likely need to keep a 2nd monitor for the time being.

I'd like to hear from anyone that went upto a curved 21:9 display, but went back to a traditional 16:9 one - or someone that frequently uses the 2 - what are your thoughts on them?

One of the things that is holding me back a little is that I'll have to upgrade my 970 to something better - but I'm hoping I can hold out for the next lot of cards before I do that.

I have a 34" X34 curved sat in front of me and a 21" 16:9 on an arm immediately above and I can't say I even notice the curve on the 21:9 unless I consciously think about it like answering your question!

If I wasn't looking straight at the X34 then yeah I'd notice the curve and it would be odd at an angle. I had a 40" UHD before and it was not quite right as the center felt too close and the corners too far away. Maybe a curve could have helped but the 21:9 1440p strikes a good balance between ultra-wide gaming and usable desktop space.

I would hold a bit longer or maybe find a 2nd 970 on Ebay you might get lucky. I only recently sold my 2 x 970s to friends for £200 each (the price new actually went up ~£30 after I bought them at release) so they haven't exactly lost that much value unfortunately.

Thanks, I quite often lean back with my feat up and turn the monitor towards me - provided the monitor stand/arm still allows me to turn the display this shouldn't be a problem?

Also, anyone find web browsing wierd? I.e. only having it on half the screen or full screen with lots of white space?

Not really interested in SLI, aside from anything else I'd need a new mobo - but not really a fan of it anyway.

I went curved ultrawide 3440x1440 34" to a flat 34" 3440x1440 ultrawide. Curved had blb, more ips glow, fish eye effect on parts of the screen. AOC 34" 3440X1440 is what I have now, Dell before that I returned.

Would never return to 16:9/16:10 on desktop. Ultrawide is the perfect experience.
