Just wondering if anyone here has 3gb of Ram with Vista. As my Vista is 32bit its all i can get, otherwise i would have bought 4gb. Is 3gb worth it at all? Gaming seems to be ok except for BF2 which stutters a bit with 2gb. Im not sure if i should get it now or get it in about september when more demanding games are coming out.

Thanks.

I have 3GB RAM, Windows XP Pro SP2 runs as smooth as butter. I could only Windows 32bit to detect 2.93GB RAM however, when I installed Vista Ultimate x64 and enabled memory remapping in the BIOS, it detected all 3GB of RAM.

I doubt that is the ram tbh, BF2 was known to prefer more than 1gb but didn't worry 2gb so add the extra overheads of vista over xp and I still think 3gb would be more than ample.

The only thing I can think is that adding the 3rd stick has kicked it into single channel mode in which case taking 1gb might even make things better.
