Anyone got a 6950 Toxic custom fan setting I can use?

So my 6950 toxic is currently the loudest thing in my computer at idle, and trixx says it's at 27% fan speed. So does anyone have a fan setting that will keep it quiet at idle whilst still keeping it cool under load, or advice on how best to set one up myself (I'm a complete noob at this :o)? TIA :)
 
You sure it's the card? I have 2 and they're both quiet as hell, even under load. It could be another component, but if you're sure it's the video card then something is wrong with it.
 
I've personally found it best to keep the standard profile.

How goods your airflow as these cards are supposed to be really quiet.
 
i use msi after burner as the fan doesnt seem to really kick in till it gets really hot.......around 90c....

so i set up so the fan is at 50% @ 80c.....and 30% @ anything under 50c i dont hear it anyway as i have my headphones on........
 
Oh don't get me wrong it is already quiet, but would be nice to have it even quieter. Temps at idle are in the 40s so figured I had room to play around with fan speeds, just not sure what speeds would be good. I'm not too bothered about noise when gaming as the sub will be louder anyway lol.

I put the speed down to 2% with trixx (don't worry it was at idle and only for a couple seconds) and the computer was virtually silent, even with the side panels off and about a foot away from my head.

I must have really good hearing lol, as the difference between 20 and 21% is noticeable (but not obtrusive), let alone 30% lol.

I've used terminator2k2's post as a base and tweaked it a bit, now got it idling at mid-high 50s at 25%, ran heaven for a bit on max and hit 70c at 30%, is this ok temp wise?

Edit: ignore the 20% fan speed reading on that, I think it's a bug with Trixx as it was stuck at that until I gave the window focus.

Edit 2: after a bit more waiting it got down to 20%. Result :D
