Anyone got a A3 3.2 V6?

What would the original dealer gain by telling him 'no' though? Dealers surely make a lot of money from Audi UK by undertaking warranty jobs. They lost a customer and the money Audi would have paid them to do the warranty repair.

No one dealer is the same. The people there act the way they do for a variety of reasons and this varies from being nice to being a complete and untter ....

I've found a different dealer where I travel out who are well worth it compared to the local Audi, same dealerships just better staff.

The VW dealer that refused mine when it went back for a service and I said I had the wheels replaced under warranty else where said something along the lines that if VW deemed the wheels not to be a valid claim if they examed them the dealer has to foot the bill, of course they could have been spouting rubbish as an excuse.

If the other dealer had refused my next course of action was VW UK however I knew from forums that most Polos with these wheels were getting them replaced under warraty so it should have been pretty easy to get them replaced if I went this route.

I know with VWs that the 3rd year of warranty is UK dealer supplied and the first 2 years is a full VW one. This is way a import only has a 2 year VW warranty not sure how it works out for the dealer though.
