please ?

bascially I'm trying to work out power difference of my CPU at different levels of clocks

I have a Q6600 ....

at 3.45 gig I'm at 1.51VCore (bios) ....

at 3.21 gig I'm at 1.3875Vcore ...

seems a big difference in Vcore for a 7 ish% extra overclock - but I wondered how that equated to no. of extra Watts .... electricity wise.

cheers, Mark.

Rough and ready estimate

1) power scales with V^2 so 9% increase in V implies ~18% increase in power from that

2) dynamic power scales with frequency so there's another 7% there

Thus combined total is ~27% increase
