Anyone got a Dell 3007WFP

anyone know if the xfx 6800GT supports the Dual Link that this lcd needs for full res?.. It has 2 DVI Sockets but no idea if you can use both powering 1 monitor

If someone has a 30inch monitor,, could you play a game in 1024 and see if its blocky please? Im guessing 1024x768 is 4:3 ratio? so in theory the left and right should be cut off. Cos I can only play fear in 1024

i got one, some of the 6800's can support it but you gotta check the spec's you need dual link dvi, not dual dvi

the screen is expensive, but great 4years warranty is nice too, you need a powerful computer to run games at native res, the monitor also is unforgiving to bad quality video.

Bad quality videos???

what is it like playing games at 1024x768????

Is it worth the money????

I think what mi9tchy is trying to say, maybe, is that low resolution video (and it will be the same with games) looks horible streched across such a high resolution display. (?)

There weren't that many 6800s with dual link DVI, and as you have found with fear, they cant handle many new games with all the eye candy on, at 1024.

Im almost 100% sure, that like the 2405, that is supports the ability to not strech or scale the image, so if you run a game at 1024x768 is will display it bang in the centre of the screen at 1:1 pixel ratio with black borders on all sides. I should also support 'strech + keep aspec ratio' - but overall i suggest if you dont have a powerfull enough graphics card to run games at higher resolutions (1600x1080 etc) or if you plan on watching a mainly divx/xvid type movies/videos on it - youll end up being dissappointed - through no fault of the monitor.

If that was the case I'd recommend going for a lower resolution monitor, where you have a better chance at displaying your media at its native resolution. Widescreens rock, check out the 20" selection maybe.

Hmm... I am not certain of that. I am currently using a 20" widescreen with a CRT 19". They are about the same hight. In terms of width, the TFT murders it.

crts ars smaller then lcds, a 19inch lcd is roughly or 21 - 22 inch crt. But a 24inch widescreen is only 0.8inch larger virtically then my 19inch lcd

my sapphire ati radeon x800 gto2 has dual link DVI-I outputs... i cant use that to connect to a dual link DVI-D dell 3007fpw monitor can i?

why not? i read DVI-I was basically DVI-D + DVI-A... so why cant i do this (im presuming i cant)
