Anyone Got a Habu?

Avoid.

Latest firmware locks the mouse to 125hz regardless of whatever you set it to in "Razer Habu Config", older firmware partially works (up to 500hz I think) but is missing features.

Installation is a huge pain in the ass, the manual says "plug in mouse before installing drivers", a protective cover on the USB connector itself says "install drivers before plugging in mouse", and the Razer website doesn't even mention plugging in the mouse at all.

Despite the installation appearing to be plug-and-play in most cases the drivers won't be properly installed, meaning it isn't detected by the "Razer Config" and necessary manual installation (pointing to .inf files, etc).

I'm just off to the P.O actually to send mine back....

haha fair enough then, can you not set the mouse hz using winxp mouse rate patcher?
Yup, the Razer drivers seem to override it for some reason. I used a 500hz and 1000hz patched usbport.sys and could confirm the Habu was always around ~125hz. When I plugged my MS Intellimouse Optical in (the one the Habu was supposed to replace) I would get the expected speeds.

Same as I've heard elsewhere - guess I'll give this one a miss - but I'm desperate to find a mouse to replace the ms optical wheel mouse I've been using - but nothing else seems to *work* for me (and this mouse does 1000Hz no hassle with a 750 avg.)

MS Intellimouse Explorer v3?

had one didn't like it, didn't suit my hand at all and the side buttons are awefull (the larger one is too easy to press and light, the smaller is too far forward and a nightmare to press!)
