The scala rider G4 is also something to look at, fantastic piece of kit.
I've had the pleasure of testing both of these kits on euro trips with my mate and I have to say it's Scala. Battery life, vox quality, ease of use etc. Scala tips the scales. It's far from perfect tho!
We had issues with the Scala originally with what sounded like 'tumbling boxes' in the background when conversating with each other, he contacted Scala and they said it was a possible issue with mismatch device firmware, sure enough my unit was running previous firmware.
During this point he ordered the interphone F5 and we used it on a two day trip to Reims race circuit last August. Initial tests the night before the trip (fitting to helmets, walking around house with helmets on, much lulz for his wife) were positive, but we both noticed, compared to Scala, our voices sounded different and compressed.
On the trip I was greeted with low battery warning after 3 hours of riding. He had charged them both as per instructed. Not long after his did the same. Bearing in mind the year previously our first trip out to France using the Scala we used them for 14 hours non stop without a hiccup and didn't need much charging either.
Possibly faulty items, but he had a trip to Africa with his wife in November and needed reliability and ease of use, more so for his other half! So the Interphones went back.
Like I stated previously they're (Scala) not perfect, but there are some known mods that can be done, of which one i did (unsoldering original earpieces and soldering on a pair of Koss PortaPro 80's style headphones). Makes listening to your mp3 collection far more pleasurable!
I wouldn't say the Interphones are bad, but from experience the Scala are a better bet.
