Been generally looking around for a few months for a 'new' car and saw the local Nissan dealer has a 2014 reg one of these.
Rather taken my fancy as it ticks several boxes of my next car, but just wondering if anyone has any practical experience and feedback of them?
It's the 4wd auto version.

Awful in my experience, much better cars around for the money they go for, in fact so many that I can't even be bothered to mention them.

The 4wd is also the worst choice from what I've read, the CVT gearbox is meant to be poop.

OK, thanks!
Made me realise one thing though and that is it's a cvt rather than a 'proper' auto.
Also need to check if it was an RS in fact or the older Nismo non RS.
In general though, ignore the 4wd cvt, what don't you rate them for?
Auto Express seem to think the standard 2wd is OK for something a bit different.

Don't listen to this rubbish.

The CVT transmission in the Juke is the Xtronic CVT, which, compared to a standard torque converter the Xtronic is absolutely fantastic, responsive and smooth. I drive two cars, one which has the Xtronic CVT, and one which has a regular torque converter, both driven very regularly. The CVT easily trumps the torque converter.

OK, thanks!

CVT is a proper auto. It's one type of three popular autos:
1) Torque converter automatics
2) CVT automatics
3) Dual clutch automatics

CVTs are popular in the Asian markets (Japan, South Korea [Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Subaru etc]), and some European markets (Renault, which have technology transfers with Nissan, since they own 47% of Nissan and early Audis before the DSG box was introduced).

If one of your boxes is hideous and overpriced, sure go for it!
As has already been said there are much better cars out there for the money.
Having driven one I cannot actually fathom why somebody would buy one against a whole host of alternatives out there.

A friend of mine has a Juke, (admittedly standard) and it has to be the worst car I've ever driven, I was expecting it to be lovely, its a nice car to be in though.

You've never driven a worse car?

I'm not doubting you but, your car history must either be pretty limited, or you're fortunate enough never to have to driven something lessor (which, there are plenty).

It's a small hatchback with a high ride height and decent performance, with a lot of toys to keep you occupied.

The wife is looking at the Juke. While Im not a massive fan I can see the appeal to her. As a drivers car no there are far better cars out there, for a car that looks nice, has some toys it ticks the boxes. She also like the high driving position.

Just trying to persuade her a focus/golf is probably a better alternative :D.

Don't get the fascination with these cars, aren't they basically a jacked up Micra?

Yeah, I'd say its limited, I've probably only driven around 10 different cars many were much older and in far worse condition. The Duke was the worst. Hated the gearbox, hated the gear sticks position and thought the clutch was horrible too. Also hated the driving position.

Of course my opinion is exactly that, it is also based on limited experience and I urge anyone considering one to test drive, but I stand by it.

The Juke is a decent car to drive, nothing better or worse than 90% of cvars out there. However IT IS SMALL so if you have a family I'd steer well clear. However, lots of toys, looks funky... drives ok... my mum and dad bought one last year and it's fine. However, I wouldn't have one as there are better cars out there, but that'salways the case no matter what you buy.

Take it out, test it and if YOU like it, forgot other peoples opinions... but no point in listening to people on a forum when you can test it yourself.

A lot of hate on here for this vehicle.

Seen my first Nismo RS at the Nissan dealer when I dropped my 350 off for a service the other week and have to say I thought it looked nice. Sure its funky but with the Nismo kit and the little red bits on a creamy/white car it looked smart.

Whether it is practical or not for everyone is opinion, but the amount of gadgets you get on it, you can pick one up for 15k, 1-2 years old and <10k miles.

Thanks for the additional responses, particularly regards the gearbox.
I always think of CVTs as being a bit odd as they don't have what are considered normal gears do they? I was also concerned it may have a worse effect on performance than torque converter types.

Anyway, yes I think I will still look at it.
Regards ticking the boxes, well, I wanted something with decent performance which it potentially has. Also want an auto and the 4wd is also something I had thought about.
I like the looks and it is a bit different to all the typical BMW, Audis etc which I also like.
It's only me driving and using it so overall room and practicality are low on the list.

My main point of the post was whether anyone had one and had experience of any specific faults etc.

It's not rubbish, go over to the juke forum and there's many people who've driven both the 2wd manual and 4wd CVT and hated the CVT, I'm not denying CVT can be good but they seem to have got it wrong with the Nismo Juke.

I cant help you op just poking my head in to say

i personally really like the look of the Juke Nismo. Much better than the sea of black/white/silver BMW's on the road to look at
