Anyone got a power meter and a few minutes?

I'm curious to find out how much power a mobile phone charger draws when charging a phone in mid cycle (rather than trickle charging). Anyone got a power meter and can give me some readings?

I've got 135 watts on a socket charging two phones, both at about 2/3rds.

Cant vouch for the accuracy of the meter though, it was free from a website promotion, could be a random number generator for all I know about electronic things!

That does sound very high. Most laptops won't draw that much.

The 230V value is the RMS line voltage. Line voltages are always given as RMS (DC equivalent). Presumably the current is also RMS and so the power would be around 11W, however as others have said there may be some PFC.

135W would be outrageous for a couple of mobile phones! Imagine how hot they'd get if this was true, they'd scorch your desk at the very least (unless they were superconductor engineered and charged fully in about a minute!). It is either 13.5W or a totally bogus meter.
