I'm looking to buy a satnav today and I'm just back from Tesco and coincendantly seen they were offering the satnav mentioned for £99.

I know the VIA is the middle range or one from the top. However it said exclusive to Tesco and when I googled it. I couldn't find any proper reviews of it or much info at all. No where else is selling it either.

The 120, I presume it's bigger brother. Is selling for quite a few quid more.

So... should I stick with my original plan which was get the IQ XL2 or have I found a winner in this 99 quid Via from the supermarket.

Cheers lads.

EDIT***

Found this on the tomtom forum.

"It's not really being sold in the UK (although you'll find some gray market units there, of course). It's sold on the continent in those countries where the Via models are available. "

"I looked at the UK version of the TT web site and couldn't find a 110 listed, still its not the first time model numbers have been confusing......"

"Are you sure about the model number as I can't find the TomTom 110 could it be a 120 instead?? - Mike"

-----------------------

I also found some French reviews of it. So... Why are Tesco selling this? Will it be alright and fully supported in the UK with maps etc if I buy it? I'm a little concerned. Otherwise it looks a great bargain and apparently the only difference is smaller internal memory, which means you can only have one or two maps and the lack of bluetooth. Which I wont use anyway as the car has it already.

I think I'll buy it. If it sucks, I'll take it back. Otherwise it looks like if you head down to Tesco you can get yourself a £150 (cheapest rainforest) everywhere else £180+ satnav for £100... if you don't mind a french import and the lack of bluetooth.

Will report back later today and let you all know if anyone is interested.

I have the via 110, I bought it from a well known high street pc retailer at the beginnig of this year. I think that I paid around £115 - £125 for it and it was also for sale at the time at other places like Halfords and the other main pc/home appliance shops. Overall its a good satnav. Its responsive, has voice recognition and I like the lane guidance when on the motorway.
