Decided to make this thread really after reading a fact Tummy posted:

There are currently 2'769 English coaches with the top UEFA coaching badge.

Compared to the 24'995 in Spain, Italy nearly 29'500, Germany nearly 35'000, France 17'000.

This actually shocked me a little how low it is compared to other countries, anyway was just wondering if anyone's got, currently in the process of getting or planning to get any football coaching qualifications?

Myself, have recently finished college after passing the FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football and the NVQ Level 3 in Coaching, Teaching & Instructing Football and will be going on to do the Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football (UEFA B) at the end of this month and soon after look to do the FA Youth Award Modules (1/2/3). I will eventually, or at least I hope in the future pass and get my UEFA A license.

Wow a qualified coach! Thought you were rarer than ******* unicorns...

OCUK FC beckons! We could be the new Ebbsfleet United! Although seeing as there are about 7 coaches in the entire UK you will probably be conscripted for the national team :(

Not to **** on anyones chips but it always amazes me the level of thought that has to go into coaching a football team, or to be become a recognised coach...

FFS - footballers run a little bit, kick a ball and if you are a keeper you can pick it up. How much more complex can it get? :p You can't IMO mould someone into a footballer, they're either good or they're not.

Tosh in all honesty mate. Of course you can. I have had five year old kids turn up on a Saturday morning scared of playing football not able to kick a ball in a straight line or have any balance or coordination.

Last season one of them bagged 15 goals, 2 with his head, 8 with his right foot and 5 with his weaker left foot and one perfect hat trick in a game.

In answering the OP

Lvl 1 FA Coaching Certificate
Lvl 1 Age Appropriate Coaching
Lvl 1 Goalkeeping Certificate

Lvl 2 FA Coaching certificate October this year

Good luck and really stick with it. Football coaching is a big commitment not just for the game time on a Saturday but all the other stuff that goes on around it. It's personally very rewarding and if you can make a career out if it all the better.

That is a really naïve comment. Are school teachers pointless? After all, anyone could pick up and read a book and teach themselves.

If others are noticing your strengths and weaknesses, then you have more points to work on and a bit of direction if you have low self-esteem. By only ever using your own self-assessments, you have a biased opinion on which you learn and progress by little in comparison.
