... because I cannot seem to get this programme running correctly. I have added both clients in different folder, it is picking them up as two seperate machines (as I have added both clients through the add box menu) I have given each client a different machine ID i.e. 2 and 3, but for some reason it will only show the frames progress bar, the WU information and how much points its is, but will not show the frame info or the finish deadline, most strange.

Thoughts fellow folders?

It's odd that it's not working - I doubt very much it has anything to do with it being a dual core though, more likely the WU has got some corrupt info or something which EM3 isn't sure of (everything up to date?)

See what the next WU shows

Works OK for me on an E6300 as well as a Dual Opteron 265 and an X2 3800, on EMIII Version 3.5.0.

Just a small thought, have you done the registry fix to add the '-local' parameter to the start of the service command, as this will have an impact?

I've been told by them over there on the official forums that the -local switch makes absolutely no difference to the running of the service as it automatically writes the files to the folder anyway

though that said I'm sure it can't do any harm

Hmm, I might be able to contradict this comment from practical experience.

When I was upgrading my XP3000 to an X2 3800, I forgot to set the -local switch when setting the second client up and it basically didn't work. I then remembered about the registry settings, stopped the service, made the registry changes, re-started the client and everything then worked OK.

This was under Windows 2000 SP4, so should apply to XP as well.

I agree that the -local settings aren't really applicable to a single client on a PC, but I think it is essential with multiple clients on a single PC (multi core/multi processor).
