Hi

I've got an old-ish Hanns-G 19" TFT screen and during the winter months, the screen keeps going blank (it's still switched on) until I switch it off and back on again. During the summer it's fine.

If I repeat the off-then-on-again process several times, the screen eventually stays on by itself. Having Googled around, it seems quite likely that the issue is related to the inverter / power supply capacitors.

Does anyone here have experience of doing this? Any tips on the procedure, or opinions as to whether I'm on the right track or not?

Thanks!

The Hanns-G was cheap and now I know why - they use cheap-ass components!

em if you want to replace the caps' use a multimeter and buzz them out till you find the right ones... then just remove replace resolder the new ones in

em if you want to replace the caps. use a multimeter and buzz them out till you find the right ones... then just remove, replace, resolder the new ones in the same way because if they're eloctrolytic capacitors and you put them in the wrong way, they may explode.

Fixed.;)
