Anyone got Fujitsu FDX310 modem and 8 meg connection?

Im with orange broadband (wanadoo) and was connected at 2 meg.

A couple of weeks ago i was having problems with my pc, the internet connection was getting dropped and caused the system to freeze, also a few blue screen errors.

I then noticed that i had been upgraded to 8 meg about 2 weeks ago which was when the problems started.

After trying everything i could think of to solve the problems i decided to try my old speedtouch modem, and with updated drivers for an 8 meg line it all working fine with no problems.

So i can only assume that the Fujitsu FDX310 modem was at fault, it was working fine with a 2 meg line but caused problems with an 8 meg line.


Does anyone have a Fujitsu FDX310 modem and an 8 meg line ?

Ive emailed Fujitsu about the problem, but got no response.


Anyone help ?

You just noticed you were on 8Mbps?

Some of us have been fighting for every speed upgrade possible! I can only get 2.5Mbps max and I check it daily in hope that I will be on 4Mbps inline with the rest of the country.

Speed upgrades do cause problems with modems and routers, when I went from 512Kbps to 1Mbps my router would often give up.

Sometimes you have to buy a new modem, e.g the infamous BT frog modem.

Yeah i know! I used to check my connection speed every so often.

I got upgraded to 2 meg and was happy with that.


I think it was down to the fact that i had just got back of holiday and i was trying to work out what was causing the connection to drop, and then i noticed!
