Anyone got I7 950 ??

They do look really good not read any reviews however.

I've got it and its built. Here's a quote from a thread I have on another forum:
Well after about 30 hours of working on this over the last two days, I'm knackered.

Any way, as I promised yesterday, here are the photos of my new rig:

Here's my £560 key ring (my dead QX9770):

Screen shot of Coretemp with the correct TJMAx for I7 and CPU-Z at 100% load using Prime 95. The temp inside my case according to a BigNG digital temp sensor is 21.5C.

(Sorry if the font size on CPU-Z is small; I'm still learning my way around Win 7 RC).

Bios VCore at 3.2GHz is 1.24V ish (from memory).

btw I've had lots of compatability problems with Windows 7 RC. The only thing I haven't sorted out is Zone Alarm.

Another gripe that I have is that updating the firmware on the OCZ Vertex is a pita. Luckily I have an old 200GB HDD lying around that I could install Win 7 RC on. Setting the jumper on the back of the SSD for the firmware update is also a pita; the OCZ engineers decided that it would be a good idea to recess the jumper pins and have a nice big hole next to them for the jumper to fall into (so it falls inside the SSD!). Kuckily, I didn't have butter fingers this time.

I did re-do the cable management after the photos were taken. Its still not brilliant though.

I will be over-clocking this sucker. My target is 4.4GHz.

Daw123 thats the best key ring ever.lol.

A few hours before I was due to complete a 4-day re-build (for the liquid cooling), I was cleaning the IHS in readiness for installing it in the MB socket, and the CPU fell out of its protective plastic cover on to a hardwood floor. This slightly bent one corner up on the PCB. I tried straightening it, but there were hairline fractures in the PCB across the bend.

I installed the CPU in the MB any way and completed the re-build. The rig powered on and switched itself off after a couple of seconds. I checked all the connections and cabling and the CPU was definitely knackered (and worthy of a key-ring).

I was so p*ssed off, but after a few hours of cursing, I realised that I could upgrade the rig and go I7 :D. So I've got 4GB of OCZ Platinum DDR3 1800MHz RAM and a GA-X48-DQ6, which have been moth-balled.

Edit: I'm not sure if the SSD is a factor (I'm using it for the OS), but this 950 rig is so much faster than the QX9770 rig. Oh, I've also got 12GB instead of 4GB of RAM, so that will help as well.
