Anyone got Medieval 2 and tried the latest X-fi drivers?

I just reinstalled Medieval 2 after some time out, and noticed that my X-fi Music card is not recognised by the game. It works perfectly well in Windows (XP, not Vista by the way). I cannot select any EAX effects in game at all, and it will only let me select the 2d sound card option.

It has worked in the past, so my only thoughts are X-Fi drivers?

Thanks for trying to assist, but I am using XP Pro SP2, and not Vista. On Vista I got it to work with the said program, and I've never had an issue on XP Pro SP2 until I installed these latest X-Fi drivers. It's a real nuisance.
