I need to ask anyone that has one of these (with stock suspension) if they could get me the measurements from the center of the wheel to where the wheel arch begins as I need to order new springs for mine and I don't know how much the guy who owned the car before me had lowered it by!

Well, since im having it sprayed (£200 - cheap because I am prepping it which is the majority of the cost) I think I might just remove all the body-kit including rear spoiler, put it on stock suspension and OEM wheels, change back the exhaust (it's not a full system so is relatively easy) and just insure it without any mods. Obviously I will keep all the sprayed body-kit and either sell it. I don't know how much i'd get for the car in it's sprayed condition with all the mods if I do decide to sell considering I paid £800 for it (I like to think the spray would add a bit of value) but who knows.. I mean, hell - it'd be a fantastic project car for someone older then. Will still be quite expensive to insure with all the mods removed.. it's either spray and sell it and get something like a Focus or just de-mod it and insure it as is. Advantage with this is that the car will look a lot nicer as a result of the spray.

I am not doing it alone by all means - my girlfriends dad used to spray cars and does a lot of mechanical work for a very experienced sprayer (The guy that will be spraying the car. He has about 30+ years experience) so all I need to pay for is the paint and the labour cost of spraying the car (considering it's on a 'friend' rate for my girlfriend's dad).

I am doing the prep with my girlfriends dad who owns an MOT garage and does body repairs and classic car restorations, so yeah he has experience in bodywork. Before any of the paint is applied, the painter will look over the car to make sure that there are no high spots or low spots for that matter so I know that the job will be as good as I can get it.

I wouldn't risk doing the job myself without consulting professional experienced bodywork people as it's a lot of money to mess around with (to me).

So yes.. it is cheap.. but no it will not suck because of the points previously mentioned.
