Hi guys,

Got myself Reason 3, but can't work out despite reading up on it how to record a real instrument in it such as a guitar. I need to be able to record my line in channel, but I can't find out how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

nooo you should have got ableton live instead

not only because id be able to help you but because its the daddys of all things computer music related imo :p

think it was a forum called reason freaks or something that ive used for stuff before

is your line in channel working in other programs ?

Yep it's working for cubase, I got reason 3 because of its ease of use with my midi keyboard (even though I know cubase can be used).

It's just going to be annoying having to export keyboard and drum patterns to cubase thats all :(

Thanks for the tip on program.

Reason won't record audio iirc.

You can however run Reason from within Cubase as a slave, just open Cubase then Reason and go to Devices within Cubase, you should see Reason in there and they will run in perfect sync.

Two monitors is damn handy when doing this by the way :)

Agree with that, its like when laying down vocals you would do it in cubase with reason running as a slave.
Any particular reason you wanted the guitar to input with reason?

Reason is a bloody amazing program, but you shouldn't use it to record guitars direct because that's not it's main function.... however you have Cubase!

Cubase is where you should be recording stuff in and you can run Reason from within Cubase so you're sorted!

if you want any help with Cubase post back and I'll see what I can do as I use it for recording :)
