so anyone playing Topspin 4 ? I have heard good things about it. I quite liked topspin 3 (although online was a mess because of the exploits).
I have finished with it on single player. Played over 250 matches on it. It's far better than any previous top spin because the controls are far easier and more dependant on timing.
That said career mode on TS2 is still the best. The career on 4 is a bit boring. It's better because you can set it to 3 games 2 sets, instead of slogging through 6 games 6 sets but every tournament is the same. Beat an easy player, Blake in the quarters, Roddick or Murray in the semis Federer or Nadal in the final.
The game could do with starting you in the semi's or finals when you are no1 in the world because beating the lower players when you have ranked up is a chore and a formality.
They also need to just make a tennis game where all the greats are in the career mode for a bit more diversity, after all you can unlock them and use them in exhibition so you may as well be able to play them in career mode because tennis is lacking enough big games right now to get bored playing the same 4.
I never touched the online. As soon as I loaded the game up and a warning comes up from 2k about dodgy created players being banned by the middle of may, I didn't bother.
TS4 should have been a game I bought for £20 and played a few games now and then, it would be awesome then. Having it on rental and plowing through it makes it a chore. Especially when you rank up, serve, return left, return right, point. Rinse and repeat.
The AI is sometimes crazy as well. You can beat Fed 3-0 3-0 for fun and then in another tournament he becomes super human right when you are thinking you need to up the skill level. Getting the balance right between a challenge and fun takes sometime.
. why not call it mario tennis ffs and be done with any realism at all.. Begone satan!!!!
