I'm running 4890s in xfire but can't seem to get rid of stuttering, tried 10.4a/10.5 drivers with and without the last 3 application profiles, have made sure all audio devices are off except the one i'm using (ie on both cards and motherboard) but i'm still getting galloping frames (is fine if stuttery then i'll get a big jump every couple of seconds). FRAPS however is reporting frame rates averaging 70/80.

I bought the 2nd 4890 specifically for BC2 so REALLY want to get it to work!!!

The only thing i can think to try is to turn catalyst ai down to normal - got this from another thread - will try that tonight.

Otherwise HELP!!

I'm running a i5 750 at 4ghz on a p7p55d pro 2x pcie x8 lanes

Btw running a single 4890 with 10.4a drivers with lowers settings was super smooth, only started having problems when i stated using xfire.

Thanks

Dave

I use 2x5850s with 10.5 drivers with the profiles, and get around 100 - 110fps, I leave CCC settings as default and turn everything up in the game.

I don't know what would be giving you the problem.. only problem i have is with 10.6 drivers and have a problem with fraps lool xD it seems to only like recording at a low FPS

and it's all nice and smooth? made you glad you got xfire etc?

And that's the 10.5a hotfix and which application profiles?

I use a 4870X2 with BFBC2 - runs fine.prior to the 10.4a drivers, I had hideous load times and flickering textures, but it's all good now.

Try updating your punkbuster manually - there was a PB bug in BFBC2 where it'd take a screenshot every now and then, causing major FPS dips.

so what drivers are you running then uv?

your setup is gonna be closer to mine could you let me know what drivers/application profiles you're using and what your catalyst and BC2 setting are please?

Pretty please?

Howdy

Still on 10.4a drivers, as I haven't had time to game recently (bought a house).. Catalyst settings are pretty much default - I have Catalyst AI on standard, and AA set to Edge Detect.

BFBC2 settings are maxed, but with only 2xAA - anything over, and I get massive black square artifacting (this may have been fixed in newer drivers, it was a known crossfire issue).

4870X2 here with 10.6 cats and 10.6 profiles. No problems with everything maxed on 1680x1050 (hbao off though) Just tried a quick online game and had min: 60fps avg: 78fps max: 105fps.

By the way Catalyst AI is on (standard). I did have to turn it off at first to remedy the stuttering in a couple of games until I installed the new profiles.

I got this problem to but on single GPU's, had it on 4770 where as soon as I joined a server my fps would be like 2 and it would go smooth after about 15 seconds, upgraded to a 5830 and its still doing it.

Only started getting it since i updated my drivers from like 9.6 or something i 'think'.

All settings on High, AA on x8 with AF on x16 (all in game settings, not through the drivers panel). As I said HBAO is off however.

All my Catalyst settings are default and as they were when I installed them.

Hope this helps mate
