As above was wondering if anyone has had their bmw bluetooth module die (mulf i think its called). Mine has stopped working yesteday meaning I have to disconnect it to avoid the pausing from the stereo, this means ive lost my autochanger in the boot :(

Was wondering if there is any options available to keep the cd changer and bypass the BT or am I stuck with getting a new mulf module only.

It might not be the MULF that has gone wrong. My 07 530d had a Telematics Control Unit for the bluetooth. I have heard of these failing but its not that common.

found a seller on ebay (has a website of his own too) that repairs these, £250ish to repair but the only problem is hes based in austrailia, so all in inc post both ways its about £300-310 decisions decisions

Theres actually one on ebay at the moment £200 or best offer, but am i'm right in thinking it will then need coding again? and i've no idea how much a stealer would charge for that. The guy on ebay that repairs them is offering a 12 month warranty too, just a shame I cant find anyone in the UK doing it. I had thought about buying a bmw warranty and wait a couple of months and make a claim..... :)

There seems to be loads of others which are different part numbers some are mulf2's wonder if they could be used? (and adding usb function too)

Does anyone know if a MULF would be covered under the named compoent warranty? It just states ECU's not sure if a MULF would be classed as a ecu?

It's electronic, it controls things, and for the most part, is a unit. I'd say that the warranty will see it as an ECU.

Thats what I would hope, i'm still toying with the idea of getting a BMW warranty and claiming on that in a few months, weighing up the pros and cons of the comp vs name component cover

Ah well made the decision and have just purchased a comprehensive warranty with a £100 excess, if it pays off and get the unit replaced using it in a couple of months, it technically means the warranty will only cost me about £150 as I would have had to purchase the unit and got it coded which would have cost at least £600 i reakon, i kept thinking about getting a used one but whats to say the same wont happen a few months later...
