Anyone had a MBP keyboard repaired?

This might be a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' kind of question but I can't get to an Apple Store particularly easily right now, so I figured it was worth asking here in the meantime.

My MBP (late 2011)'s keyboard has developed a fairly significant problem where many vowels, and a few other letter keys, rarely respond any more.
Now, the charger is only working intermittently, although I've no clue if that's related or I just need a new charger as it's been a bit frayed lately anyhow.

Anyone had any experience of this and how much it's probably going to cost me to get the keyboard fixed? And how long I'll end up without it? Just so I can plan accordingly. :)

You have to replace the whole palmrest, if apple do it they will charge you a fair bit. Here is a guid to replacing it depending on which model it is.

13" Macbook

15" Macbook

I'm not 100% sure with the 2011 model but there is a way of just replacing the keyboard but it means unscrewing about 70 tiny screws. I've done it on the 2009/2010 and saved a fair bit as the keyboard was only about £30 instead of £100 for the whole palmrest.

Cheers :) Looking at that guide, it's a bit beyond my expertise (or at least nerve!) but I'll see what I can find about just replacing the keyboard.
