Got them of both my quad clients, it's killed my PPD. I've lost a total of 3200PD and there ETA is just over 48 hours per WU on my Q6600 @ 3.7Ghz :(

Had quite a lot on Linux VMs when the A1 units were common a few weeks back - with only two cores able to process the WU (and my sporadic uptime + low OC) they tend to take quite a large part of a week to complete. Not good ppd wise!

There are ways to avoid A1 units.

Well thanks for sharing!

He's probably thinking of selecting to receive only small WUs. I have a 5101 WU at the moment and it's worth only 2165 points

Fahmon says it will take 1 day, 16 hours in total and I'm getting under half the ppd I would get for a 1920 point WU.

I wonder which is worse 5101 or 5102 anyone got both in their current benchmarks list?

5102s were worse - im sorry i dont have the benchmark data since a format a few weeks ago (its saved somewhere... although where im not sure!). There was not a huge amount in it, but the 3000 point units were a bit worse for me.

That sound far worse than a 5102 since for another 8 hours work you would be getting over 1000 more points.

Aside from Linux VMs with advmethods on? I sure someone has probably written a script to delete non-A2 units, but its not a great idea if you ask me.

Well thanks for sharing!

See first quote for why I didn't. It's frowned upon but the scripts are out there if you look. It can result in a lot of downtime if there are no A2 units to get as the scripts just constantly delete the A1s and try again and again. When there are A2s it's what you'll mostly get anyway so the benefit of scripts like this are marginal.

Son of a ***** one of them just finished and the client hung on 100%, so I restarted the client and it said corrupted WU deleting and continuing. That's about 2 days wasted !

OOH nice one :D Is this a once only thing or would I have to do it each time a WU hangs (this being the 1st)?

VVV Thanks :)
