Anyone had an Endoscopy?

I felt really bad, because I coughed the throat spray right back out into the guys face as a complete reflex action lol Maybe why he shoked my half to death lol

I've had two but prefer to be knocked out, it's less hassle lol.

A Cystoscopy now that's a different matter, I was awake for one of theses mainly because he said they use a rigid scope up the ole fellow when knocked out.
It does make your toes curl :-o

7 now and counting (another one in a few weeks/months) and two ercp's (like 200 million billion times worse) both lasting over a hour and a half for peritonitis.

Still alive though so fun times!

Imagine the feeling of having air blown into your stomach then back out. .

6 times in about 18 months I had that done. The first time was absolutely horrific. The worst pain afterwards I have ever been in. No warnings, nothing and I had to drive my car home in rush hour traffic. The pain didn't hit until an hour or so after getting home.

My wife came to drive me the other times and the experience and pain varied. That first time had me coiled up in pain for about 8-12 hours afterwards.

"Try not to resist"

You are ****ing kidding me!

Had a TOE which is very similar, very unpleasant. Chose the numbing spray but with that stupid mouth guard I couldn't say the spray hadnt worked. Just had to silently retch for 20 minutes while they slid the tube up and down. Not planning on being conscious if they have to do another.

A lot of sick people in here. What are you all doing to get all these cameras up the arse? :/

What a load of Wusses! :D

I had an endoscopy last year, no sedation, no problem!

Two reasons for eschewing the sedative

A) I had to go to work afterwards so didn't want to be drugged up all day.

B) I am in the 2% or so of the population that sometimes reacts "Badly" to the more common light sedatives. (By "Badly" I don't mean being sick! I mean temporary Drug induced psychosis! ) so I avoid sedatives unless absolutely necessary

The thing was halfway through the procedure I got the giggles! The poor doctors/technicians thought I was having convulsions but I was able to put their minds at rest using hand gestures.

it was just that while they were pushing this hosepipe sized tube down my throat I just had this image of Dyno-rod flash into my mind along with the thought that if they pushed any more in it would come out the other end and I would get a bum check thrown in for free!

Judging by the look on their faces, I don't think they had ever had anybody get the giggles before!

I had it a few years ago. They inserted the camera via my nose so I didn't get the gag reflex thing at all.
They performed it under a local anesthetic so no pain, but it's not a very pleasant sensation. Nothing to worry about really but given a choice I'd prefer not to have to go through it again.

Had a lot worse things undertaken to me, so camera up the nose wasn't that bad, just unpleasant.

Just don't look at the screens and you'll be ok!

Remember that you'll still alive afterwards; that's all that matters.

I didn't get to see a screen. Some of the replies and descriptions of it made me check up on the term endoscopy. Turns out I was wrong, the procedure I had was a Bronchoscopy.

a little over a week ago i had a camera inserted up my penis to check out my bladder. Worse 5 minutes of my life. Not the excruciating pain like nothing i had ever felt before, but the 3 nice looking nurses sitting there watching me almost cry like a girl while a male doctor messed with me. the room was freezing and they tip cold antiseptic on your parts to. I didnt look my 'best' :)
