Hi,

Friend has a problem where by his sata2 drive shows in bios and when he checks via "dos"/fdisk but XP doesnt detect it.

Now hes running a sata pci card, is it likely that hes got to load some sata drivers or similar for xp to see it as an install drive ?

thx

xp has no native sata drivers , the correct drivers formthe motherboard site need to be installed when xp asks for extra drivers at the beginning of the installation
press F6 and insert floppy with drivers on when asked

I did a fresh install recently with SATA1 and SATA2 HD's and XP with SP2
recognised both without hitting F6 or installing any other drivers.

As you say I suspect its to do with the SATA Card drivers rather than the OS. Didn't the card come with any drivers?
