Anyone Had Issues Installing Old Adobe CS3 on a New Computer?

Hi Guys

Years ago, I bought a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 3. It was expensive.

I've now bought a Surface Pro 3, and as I don't need all the bells and whistles of Creative Cloud, I just want to install CS3 again from disc.

The problem is, the Autorun gives me a "can't find file" message, and when I try running a setup.exe file, it just hangs, the disc doesn't even seem to be reading.

For some reason I expected to have a headache trying to do this. I just wondered if anyone else had encountered a similar problem installing CS3 on a new computer?

CS3 doesn't work on Windows 8 according to Adobe as it's so old but there maybe ways of getting it to work if you google it.

Thanks for the reply. It does look as though there may be a compatibility issue. It looks as though you need a later version of CS3 in order to be able to install.

Probably best going for Adobe CC, which is the most recent edition to Adobes software.

Try installing it directly to C:\ not the default Program Files path. So something like C:\Adobe.

All I can say is the installer loads fine here and gets to the point before starting the install, all without compatibility settings. I've got newer Adobe software on now, so didn't want to finish the install. Win 8.1 x64 here.

The autorun.exe works fine, as does launching the setup.exe directly.
